At Ameritex Movers in Houston, community involvement isn’t just a phrase; it’s a cornerstone of our mission. Since 2014, we’ve proudly partnered with the Houston Food Bank, the largest hunger relief agency in the United States. Our collaboration focuses on the Backpack Buddy Program, which aims to alleviate hunger among elementary students in Southeast Texas.
The Backpack Buddy Program provides essential weekend meals to over 25,000 elementary students who rely on free and reduced lunches during the school week. Beginning with just a handful of schools, Ameritex Movers has helped expand this initiative to 700 schools across the region. Each Friday, students receive a backpack filled with nutritious food items like fruits, vegetables, proteins, cereals, and shelf-stable milk—enough for six meals—to share with their families.
On a weekly basis, Ameritex Movers trucks transport thousands of backpacks to local schools, ensuring seamless delivery to those in need. Additionally, our team volunteers regularly at the Houston Food Bank, participating in food drives and assisting with logistical operations.
